History Group

Anyone interested in local history is welcome to join us. We got stuck into our first project in 2012 researching our local heritage. We presented our information in a series of display boards which were used at Radstock Museum as part of their Villages and Communities Exhibition in 2013! These boards will soon be on permanent display in the Village Hall.  Since then we have researched a specific local history topic each year, displayed at the annual Shoscombe Village Day. The group meets at The Apple Tree in Shoscombe to share ideas about projects, speakers and visits.

Wildlife Group

The Wildlife Group are energetic in keeping tabs on our local flora and fauna, whilst at the same time managing a piece of the old railway line as a wildlife conservation area.

Phil Hall is our local expert. See the 'What's on' page to find out the interesting activities he is planning during the Summer.

Ramblers Group

If you would like to join us, details of the monthly walks can be found in the Shoscombe newsletter. Stout footwear is advisable as parts of the walks are usually across fields.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but will need to be on leads at times.
